i think that i have already downed two gallons of english breakfast tea...and i've only been here for a week. but it is delicious and their coffee here is not very good. and they think it's ridiculous that you want it just black and usually just accidentally end up putting milk in it because they're so used to it. everything is served with milk and sugar here...!
"hi can i have a coffee?"
"would you like cream and sugar?"
"hi i will have tea please?"
"cream and sugar?"
"yeah, i'll have a sandwich?"
"did you want cream and sugar with it?"
"what?"
"oh right sorry, i'm just so used to asking that. bullocks."
anyway, my friends and i have been enjoying going to the different pubs in town, because that and the school are basically all that is here. along with some excellent shopping. my two favorites so far have been the eagle and child, which is where "the inklings" used to meet every tuesday morning, and the inklings consisted of c.s. lewis, jrr tolkien and some of their friends, and the king's arms. both are so cozy and such authentic oxford places to go. their tea only costs a pound, and it's the best i've found so far. these are both pretty famous oxford pubs, so now that i've gone to these a few times i want to start discovering ones more off the beaten path.
oh yeah, and i started school this week...haha. it's just been lectures in the morning on different british things.......
you don't want to hear about that :]
